“Eutanasia di Stato” e “terapia di Stato” sono due facce della stessa medaglia
Dichiarazione di Benedetto Della Vedova, presidente dei Riformatori Liberali e deputato di Forza Italia:
Le dichiarazioni rilasciate sul caso Welby da Gianfranco Fini dimostrano quanto grande (e in fondo, comprensibile) sia il rischio di affrontare il problemi posed by the Welby case with ideological reflexes and automatic abstract, which does not look realistic and the extent of circumstances.
Welby's case is headed for me - in a paradigmatic way - in the more general problem of informed consent and the possibility that our system recognizes in principle, to refuse treatment that the patient feels that they can not and do not want more pay, thus anticipating the moment of death and irreversibly entered, however, the next evolution of the disease.
Welby is not suicidal, but a terminally ill patient who intends to withdraw consent to medical treatment which considers only afflicted. This analysis is
the document published today by the Corriere della Sera and signed by a group of Members of Forza Italy, including the former Minister Antonio Martino and Stefania Prestigiacomo (which for a mere clerical error does not appear in the list of signatories).
In the document, it states very clearly: "The State of euthanasia (such as the" coercive "in some European legal systems has taken dangerously stand) and the" therapy of the State "(such as that which is bureaucratically imposed on patients are not physically able to escape) are two sides of same coin and both are based on the same basis: that is the idea that freedom of choice is not for the patient, reduced to an object of the decisions of others. "
