From the head of the government too much ambiguity and very little responsibility.
Declaration Benedetto Della Vedova, president of the liberal reformers and member of Forza Italy:
"The story of the Vicenza base Prodi is facing a delicate issue with too much ambiguity and very little responsibility. Does not object, but puts the responsibility to the previous government. Do not decide on a line, but leaves them to coexist within the government and the majority of different lines and Opposite designed to explode at the local level.
Mr Prodi can not play two parts in the play. Can not be the head of the government that "does not si oppone” all’ampliamento della base e il capo della maggioranza che, per una buona metà delle sue componenti, sta organizzando sul piano politico la “resistenza” a questa decisione. Governo e maggioranza hanno il dovere di decidere in modo chiaro su una questione che non è meramente “urbanistica”, ma che attiene alle alleanze politico-militari e alla sicurezza del nostro paese.
Che qualcuno pensi di ricorrere ad un referendum consultivo locale per avallare o contrastare l’ampliamento della base di Vicenza è un ulteriore segno da parte dell’Unione di irresponsabilità e di abdicazione alle responsabilità di governo.
